That’s why we’re dedicated to providing a supportive, family-friendly environment where work-life balance is more than just a phrase – it’s a reality.A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant:As a Staff Accountant, you’ll assist in the completion of the daily operations of all accounting activities. Providing positive support in a professional manner, using established policies, procedures, and expectations, you will collaborate with management and coworkers to research and respond to daily inquiries.You will handle reconciliations for the general ledger accounts, internal deposit accounts and correspondent bank accounts. To make sure financials stay on point, you will prepare journal entries to help with the monthly close process. Additionally, assist with keeping the fixed asset accounting system up to date, support external audits, and aid with budget preparation.Part of the job will also involve preparing financial statements and regulatory reports (like the FDIC call report) and making sure we’re in compliance with GAAP.Beyond that, you’ll pitch in to improve systems and processes and assist in any special projects that come your way.Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience
  • Three years of experience in an entry level staff accounting position or similar experience

  • Financial and regulatory accounting
  • Must be detail-oriented, thorough, and organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must possess excellent mathematical skills and the ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Process and procedure-oriented
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (extensive experience with Excel), core systems, fixed asset software, and accounts payable software or the ability to adapt to new software

Work Schedule:This position requires 40 hours each week with the majority of work being completed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some evenings are necessary to meet deadlines. Travel is minimal to meet with customers, go to branches, and attend conferences/training.Perks of the job:
