Job Description:We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Insurance industry, based in Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves meticulous document handling, accounts reconciliation, and journal entries preparation. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be expected to work with large volumes of data, handle prepaids and accrual expenses, and manage month-end procedures.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts receivable
- Efficiently prepare journal entries as part of the accounting process
- Manage large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Handle prepaids and accrual expenses, ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Ensure the smooth running of month-end procedures
- Use NetSuite for various accounting tasks
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
- Carry out Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations
- Handle general ledger tasks and month-end close procedures.
Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the insurance industry
- Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management, and Journal Entries
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with the Month End Close process
- Experience with the NetSuite software
- Knowledge of Prepaid Assets management
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is a plus.
