By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.Role Description: At CoStar Group, our finance group centralizes transaction processes, providing accurate reporting, financial resolutions, and proper forecasting analysis. Joining the team offers access to financial specializations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and asset management, client contracts and billing, and revenue recognition.The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for assisting in the monthly close process, including preparation of (i) monthly journal entries, (ii) account reconciliations, and (iii) variance analyses related to the monthly results. Other responsibilities for this position include assisting in implementation of changes and enhancements to the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system. This position will also work with the Financial Planning and Analysis team and meet with various other departments to understand fluctuations from budget and forecast and to help enhance our month-end close processes. This position may also get exposure to technical accounting issues, including business combinations and integrations, and have interactions with our external auditors.The Senior Accountant should have a general knowledge Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and experience (i) working within a monthly close process, (ii) implementing accounting systems, (iii) preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
