Job Description –Senior Accountant
- Reporting structure:
Reports to the Site ControllerOverall position description:The Senior Accountant position will need to be skilled in accounting principles;accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash posting, tax filing, journal entries, cost accounting, account reconciliations, customer disputes and will provide financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations.Essential functions of the job:
- Ensure accounting records are accurate and complete on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Perform month-end close accounting which includes creating, processing, and posting of journal entries to the general ledger (depreciation, accruals, payroll, deferred revenue, revenue, reclassifications, amortizations, reversing and manual postings)
- Coach and guide junior accounting team members.
- Manage processes and systems for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Check for proper approvals and authorizations. Enter and process payments.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and general ledger account reconciliation.
- Preparing sales tax reports/sales tax reporting
- Assist Controller in preparing tax and government reports.
- Evaluate inventories and material costs at period end.
- Manage cycle counts inventory program;ensure that all relevant paperwork and system input is completed for cycle counts, inventory adjustments and maintain weekly loss tracking.
- Bank Reconciliation
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including tracking unpaid invoices, making collection calls, posting receipts, and resolving discrepancies.
- Conduct Credit Checks on customers seeking credit terms.
- Cost Accounting-Planning, Studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyzing changes in raw materials and manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost.
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Track and manage inventory using periodic data collection and reporting.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Read write and speak English
- Basic accounting skills
- Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Understand basic office filing procedures
- Ability to cope with multiple requests and priorities
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Plant Controller
Required education and experience:
- 3 years minimum experience in related position
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent work experience
- Cost accounting experience, including production variance and purchase price variances analyses
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Prefer knowledge of SyteLine ERP
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a high-volume workload environment and be results driven
- Must be a team player, who is highly organized
- Prefer experience in Contract Manufacturing or OEM Electronics Manufacturing
