The position holder will be accountable for the accounting operations of the company, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing specialized accounting work and is to perform daily activities which help record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities. The Senior Accountant will contribute to preparation of annual financial statements and support of annual audits as well as assist in the annual budget process.The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Finance & Accounting Manager and will be based out of our Tampa, FL office with a hybrid schedule offered.Responsibilities
- Contribute to the monthly and annual reporting to corporate headquarters.
- Ensure assigned business units are properly reconciled and maintained in SAP system.
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
- Support annual audits.
- Provide or support in financial analysis tools to evaluate special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. whenever necessary.
- Complete Hyperion reporting.
- Schedules for monthly and year-end financial consolidation.
- Perform financial analysis in support of commercial and supply chain initiatives.
- Develop standard operating procedures for maintaining key controls for financial reporting processes.
- Month-end closing to ensure transactions are accurately and timely prepared in accordance with IFRS standard.
- Interpret IFRS standards and prepare accounting memos for new or high dollar transactions.
Profile
- 5 to 7 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Proficiency in SAP (preferably S4/HANA) and Microsoft Excel, Hyperion preferred.
- High initiative and ability for managing multiple projects.
- Proven experience in maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, accounts, subsidiary ledgers.
- Solid experience supporting audit activities.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- GAAP especially IFRS knowledge/experience.
- Analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Significant participation in month end close activities.
- Experience in Operational Excellence and/or continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrated experience in documenting and improving standard procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the team and with upper management.
