Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: Director of Finance
Type: Full Time In Office Mon-Fri
Location: Mayzo Headquarters in Suwanee, GA
Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, along with experience in financial forecasting, regulatory reporting, and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic finance team and contribute to the company’s financial success.Duties and Responsibilities:
Month-End and Financial Reporting

  • Assist in month-end closing and preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations of select G/L accounts.
  • Assist with monthly SGA variance explanations.
  • Assist with actual versus budget variance analysis.

Transaction Processing and Analysis

  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording journal entries.
  • Process invoices and manage customer maintenance, including updating price changes.
  • Perform detailed analysis of transactions to evaluate the appropriateness of account balances.
  • Generate and review AR aging analysis.
  • Prepare weekly check runs and positive pay files.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Assist in preparing the annual financial budget.
  • Assist in preparing monthly sales analysis files.

Inventory and Compliance

  • Assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Assist in preparing the annual financial budget.

Special Projects and Process Improvement

  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Assist with documenting all processes and procedures for accounting systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Staff/senior staff accountant experience
  • Prior experience with month-end close
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • High proficiency in Excel with pivot tables and vlookup
  • Able to work with a team and interact effectively with other department members
  • Able to prioritize day-to-day responsibilities, while ensuring timeliness to meet deadlines
