This role will work closely with the Technical Accounting Manager to ensure accurate accounting around revenue recognition and other technical accounting for the organization. The ideal candidate is a driven problem solver, able to communicate technical accounting in an understandable way, while being able to work independently and juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.Duties and responsibilities
- Apply a thorough understanding of ASC 606 to recognize revenue on professional services, subscriptions, hardware and software transactions.
- Contract review to support revenue determination, including documenting revenue transactions with multiple deliverables.
- Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to understand and address unique revenue recognition challenges.
- Partner with GL accounting and contract management team to determine monthly revenue recognition and deferral.
- Maintain key accounting documentation.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations monthly.
- Work closely with the Company’s auditors and other service providers regarding revenue, royalty, general accruals, international accounting and intercompany accounting matters/
- Review and suggest areas of improvement in process, policy, and internal control.
- Help review key accounting risks and ways to mitigate those risks.
- Participation and support of revenue recognition streamlining projects.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights into revenue forecasts for certain contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, or related field
- CPA certification is a plus or actively working on CPA license.
- 2+ years related public accounting experience is a plus.
- Understanding of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Experience with software revenue recognition and review of contracts.
- Exposure in writing technical accounting memos.
- Ability to continually reassess and identify process improvements, flexible mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork
- Demonstrates attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient with MS Office tools.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
