LPN (Pediatrics General) Downtown Orlando

Nemours is seeking an LPN (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital Medically Complex team in Downtown Orlando, Florida.Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve; we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.At the direction and under the supervision of a recognized licensed authority, the licensed practical nurse (LPN) contributes to the nursing process by performing tasks within the framework of case finding, health teaching, supportive and restorative care. The LPN gathers patient data and performs follow-up assessments using the nursing process.This position is responsible for the following:

  • Gather patient data and collaborate with healthcare team on plan of care.
  • Provides care that meets professional standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Safely administers medications and vaccines as prescribed by the provider.
  • Assists provider with procedures within the scope of the LPN license.
  • Performs point of care testing.
  • Provides age and developmentally appropriate care to primary and specialty care patients.
  • Performs and documents patient intake including but not limited to height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, vision and hearing screen, reason for visit, medication reconciliation.
  • Participates in departmental and system wide quality improvement activities.
  • Screens patient and family calls, gathers information, escalates, and refers appropriately.
  • Orders and stocks appropriate inventory of medical surgical supplies.
  • Collaborates with family, team members and other caregivers and contributes to pan of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel required to satellite locations as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited LPN Program required.
  • Valid State of Florida LPN License required.
  • AHA BLS Certification required upon hire.
  • Minimum of (3) three months and up to (6) months of experience required.
  • Travel to other locations required.
