Spend 10 weeks with us exploring the retail industry as an H-E-B Intern. Program dates will be from June 2nd – August 8th. The days and hours you’ll work will vary based on a retail schedule including some night and weekend shifts.H-E-B self-manufactures 1,650+ products in our 13 Manufacturing Plants. Not to brag, but that includes 1.38 billion slices of bread, 59 million dozen tortillas, and 12,000,000 gallons of ice cream per year. And yay for the 39,000+ dairy cows it takes each day to manufacture our milk! Program Expectations
- Must have reliable transportation or be open to using public transportation
- Must be available for the entire 10 weeks
- The availability to commit to full-time work in-person for the duration of the Internship, and work a varying work schedule, if required
Physical and Other Requirements
- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
- Lift up to 20 lbs on a regular basis
- Work rotating schedules
Projects previous Interns have worked on:
- A previous intern created a testing procedure which assesses all criteria for the feasibility of a new Milk Pallet. Identify all Partner/machine interfaces with the pallet as well as product fit and stability for these pallets in any action performed in the HEB Supply Chain.
- A previous intern evaluated the bread process from first unloading into the warehouse from manufacturing to final loading in the trailer to ship to the store. Documented a process flow map, capturing all the steps that Bread items go through within the warehouse.
