We are proud that our independent agents and customers have recognized our dedication by making UAIC the market leader in every state where we conduct business.SCOPE:As a Guidewire Developer at UAIC, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Guidewire applications to enhance our insurance systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze business requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within the insurance industry. UAIC offers a remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with business analysts and leadership teams to understand and analyze business requirements.
  • Participate in requirements analysis sessions, providing technical insights and recommendations.
  • Design and develop Guidewire applications, including configuration, integration, and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter modules.
  • Implement and maintain business rules, workflows, and user interfaces within the Guidewire platform.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Integrate Guidewire applications with external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency.
  • Manage and maintain data models within Guidewire, ensuring accurate representation of business entities and relationships.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Guidewire applications, providing timely support to end-users.
  • Investigate and diagnose system defects, implementing effective solutions and ensuring minimal impact on operations.
  • Conduct thorough testing of Guidewire applications to identify and address any defects or issues.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Explore and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of Guidewire applications.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in Guidewire software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and other developers, to ensure alignment with overall business and technology goals.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives within an agile development framework.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency in Guidewire development activities.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Guidewire certifications (e.g., Guidewire Certified Developer) a plus.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience working as a developer, knowledgeable in Guidewire Digital and predictive analytics preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in agile development methodologies.
  • Strong programming skills in Java and hands-on experience with Gosu scripting language.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Studio, Data Model, Business Rules Framework, and Web Services.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry processes and workflows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
