JOB PURPOSE
The role will be focused on performing professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data to assist with oversight and control over the completeness and accuracy of the financial results. In addition, support operations from a financial side. Accountable for the preparation of daily payment packs, reviewing processed invoices and credit notes for completeness and accuracy, assisting the Financial Manager with the profit margin analysis, and tracing costs and revenues back to underlying activities. The financial accountant must be familiar with using ERP systems (such as Sage Pastel) as this will be used on a daily basis to perform the aforementioned functions which will ultimately be used to provide an appropriate level of financial information to the Financial Manager . Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Management and Control:
- Invoicing for different revenue streams (Vending and Bill Payments).
- Debtor’s and creditor’s full function and be able to perform duties across different business segments.
- Reviewing debtors for overdue items and supporting operations team.
- Municipal / Supplier reconciliations (daily, weekly & monthly). Assisting with queries on municipal accounts.
- Performing Statement of Financial Position reconciliations. Data Collection and Analysis:
- Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system.
- Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Financial Analysis:
- Supply data on margins by product, location, segment and customer. Provide Financial Manager with accurate financial data relating to periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
- Analyze capital budgeting requests. Insights and Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of various financial data and analytics reports by product, location, segment and customer.
- Prepare the VAT 201 and VAT Reconciliation for review by the Financial Manager.
- Provide support for internal and external audit requests.
- Preparation of monthly profitability reports for review by Financial Manager
- Any other Ad-Hoc duties which arise from time to time to meet business requirements.
Requirements: EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree in Finance / Accounting / CIMA
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar role
