At the end of the internship, you will have gained the following experience:JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Redesign, update and maintain the Archives’ web presence
- Assist with processing archival collections
- Help manage and improve the storage and record-keeping for our physical and digital photograph collection
- Create and input the data for sections of our manuscript collections
- Catalog rare books and other unique materials
- Assist with archival programming and instruction sessions
- Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned
[Student workers will be trained in aspects of job performance duties.]BASIC COMPETENCIES: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities)
- Required: Computer literate (PC & MAC)
- Required: Must be enrolled at least at part-time, graduate degree-seeking status at Dominican University
- Required: Must be eligible for US employment
- Preferred: Completed GSLIS 701, 703 and 704
- Preferred: Familiar with HTML / CSS / XML
- Preferred: Familiar with / interested in basic Archival practices
- Ideal: Awareness of EAD / DACS / MARC / DC
