POSITION TITLE: Accountant – Accounts PayableREPORTS TO: Director of AccountingCLASSIFICATION: Non-ExemptCareSTL Health is seeking an Accountant- Accounts Payable. The Accounts Payable Accountant maintains the day to day function of A/P; maintains a working relationship with outside vendors to ensure that accounts are current and paid in full.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Accounts Payable Accountant may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.
- Processes open invoices and check requests on daily basis
- Maintains meticulous record of outstanding payables and processes payment of invoices on a biweekly basis.
- Ensure accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure good or services were received before issuing payment to vendors.
- Maintains working relationship with outside vendors
OTHER DUTIES:
- Maintains A/P files and Contracts
- Maintain vendor w-9s.
- Protect business against uinintentional overpayment.
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures.
- All other duties assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field required
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable (including in processing cash deposits) required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to maintain accounting principles, practice, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the preparation of accounts payable in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices)
Transportation Requirement:
- Must have Reliable Transportation

- None
