Summary : The Accountant performs critical accounting functions that contribute to exceptional financial performance and financial compliance for ThedaCare. Prepares and supports key functions including financial audits, grant compliance audit, tax returns for each affiliated entity, community benefit reporting, banking and treasury services, investments, monthly financial close, capital tracking and depreciation, detailed analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and coordination of risk insurance policies. Responds to other projects assigned by the director of accounting that help to protect and provide financial guidance to ThedaCare.Job Description:KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Creates and processes journal ledger activities of month end close to create timely and complete financial records.Reconciles, analyzes, and reports on balance sheet activities to provide accurate and transparent financial reports.Prepares tax returns, audit materials, and surveys in accordance with GAAP to be accountable to the public by disclosing our financial performances.Maintains and trains cash reporting and investment activities so that reconciliations and cash controls can be followed and financial reporting is free from errors affecting cash.Maintains and creates asset and activity records following ThedaCare’s established accounting processes.Coordinates risk insurance policies, coverages, and claims requests so that levels of coverage provided are appropriate and effective at balancing financial risks.Communicates with and trains others to improve outcomes and financial performance.Maintains software applications and other tools under direction of accounting department.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in accountingThree years of accounting experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistanceJob classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Climate controlled office/cubicle setting with daily movement throughout the facilityInteraction with department members and other healthcare providersScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Scheduled FTE: 1Location: ThedaCare Corporate Office – Neenah,WisconsinOvertime Exempt: Yes
