Accountant

Support Center – IrvingThe Staff Accountant is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete and accurate. In addition, the position will perform any combination of routine analysis, calculations, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. This position ensures the maintenance of, and adherence to, existing controls, policies, and procedures for accurate and complete financial statements and the sustainment of our Sarbanes-Oxley certification.Major Activities

  • Reconcile and analyze various general ledger account balances and recommend to management appropriate action to be taken, if necessary.
  • Prepare and enter various general ledger journal entries for month-end closing.
  • Prepare various schedules and roll-forwards for internal teams, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze project expenditures and collaborate with various business partners on the accuracy and appropriateness of capital spend.
  • Research questions and issues that arise relating to information contained in the monthly financial reports.
  • Interrelate with other departments to resolve issues as they occur.
  • Prepare and complete special projects as needed.

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Accounting

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Proficient in Excel

Minimum Type of experience the job requires

  • 0 to 5 years of accounting experience
  • Exposure to U.S. GAAP and SOX

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills

  • CPA or CMA preferred

Preferred Type of experience the job requires

  • Experience with Oracle Financials or other large ERP desired
