Responsibilities & QualificationsPosition OverviewThe controllership team, located in Greensboro, Georgia, is seeking an accountant! The person in this role will have responsibilities for participating in month-end closing, plant internal control policies, productivity-saving tracking, and more.Responsibilities
- Participate in month-end plant closing activities:
- Prepare plant journal entries.
- Work with the local team with inventory reconciliations.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Complete month-end reporting documents as assigned.
- Provide detailed analysis of plant OPEX spending to department managers.
- GR/IR management
- Capital spending: budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, meeting with project managers and plant leadership, asset capitalizations, disposals, fixed asset verifications
- Cost reduction: suggesting ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits
- Complete daily and weekly plant reports as assigned.
- Participate in assigned physical inventories.
- Help review and assist plant AP needs.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
- Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting is desired.
- Soft skills, including communication, and being willing to be a team player and help in other areas when needed.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to think independently, synthesize data, and make proactive, concise recommendations.
- Experience with SAP will be a bonus.
- Effective interpersonal communication is imperative.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are necessary to meet deadlines and maintain documentation.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet critical deadlines.
