About the Grant Accountant Position:Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization whose work is powered by a variety of grants. They are looking for a skilled Grant Accountant to help ensure their funding is managed effectively and compliantly so they can continue to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve! The Grant Accountant position is a 4-month contract with the possibility of being extended.Essential Functions for the Grant Accountant:
- The Grant Accountant will manage all financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including grantors and auditors.
- Track, reconcile, and monitor grant expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant terms.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications by providing accurate budgetary information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify accurate allocation of expenses to grants.
- Coordinate with program managers and other departments to ensure financial and programmatic objectives are aligned.
- Maintain detailed records of all grant-related activities and financial transactions.
Preferred Requirements for the Grant Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (CPA is a plus).
- The Grant Accountant should have a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in grant accounting.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and private grant compliance requirements.
- Experience and proficiency in accounting ERP software.
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
