Senior Accountant (Onsite)

LOCATION: Wild Horse Pass Development Authority
COMPENSATION: $62,150-$74,618 DOE
HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Director of FinancePosition Summary: The Senior Accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the Finance Department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
  • Works with the Director of Finance, Controller and/or Accounting Manager on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization.
  • Reviews records of accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Creates forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, maintenance of financial records, processes, and data, and enhance the company’s value.
  • Respond to the Director of Finance and Controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate the financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Key Qualifications – Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent number of years of experience plus five (5) years of accounting experience.
  • CPA Certification preferred
  • Prefer candidate who has experience providing financial or accounting services to a wide variety of businesses and has experience working with Native American Tribal business
  • Must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and provide proof of past driving record for thirty-nine (39) months from the Department of Motor Vehicle GRIC driver’s permit will be required, drive certification needed to drive all community vehicles.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen prior to assuming position.
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace as a condition of employment.
